How to use the Turnitin Draft Coach

Turnitin Draft Coach:

Below is a step-by-step guide to utilizing the Turnitin Draft Coach tool before you submit your assignments in Bright Space.

  • Navigate to the home page of your Bright Space.
  • Click “mySNHU” in the middle of the tool bar, immediately above the “Welcome”.

  • Sign into your "mySNHU" account by selecting one of the options shown in the screenshot above.

  • At the "mySNHU" homepage, navigate to your Webmail by clicking on the Webmail icon. Icons are toward the top right-hand side of the screen, with the Webmail icon on the left.

  • Once you have navigated to your SNHU email, click on the waffle icon in the top left corner.

  • Click on the Word icon from this menu.

  • Once Word opens, either upload your paper or create a blank document to start a new paper.

  • Click the Turnitin button in the top ribbon.
  • Click the Draft Coach button in the top left.

  • This will open the draft coach on the left side of the screen (you may need to log into your SNHU account again).
  • Click the Similarity Check option

  • Click on the Run Similarity Check.

  • Click on the Confirm button at the bottom of the page.
  • Please note you will only be able to run (3) similarity checks on each paper, for more you will need to upload or start a new Word document.

Make sure you do not alter any of the paper while the Similarity Coach is being ran.

  • Once completed, the Turnitin Draft Coach will show your overall similarity score.
  • You can also click on View Full Report tab at the bottom of the screen to see if you are missing citations, quotations, etc.

  • The image above is an example of the Full Report feature of the Turnitin Draft Coach.

     

WARNING: Using the Turnitin Draft Coach feature multiple times can gradually increase your Turnitin Similarity score.
