This page supports our eight-week workshop series, which covers key concepts from PHL 218 Ethics in Global Society. All students are welcome to attend. The resources below are designed to help you get the most out of each session and strengthen your skills. We are excited to have you here and look forward to learning together.
The focus for this first week is on ethics: What are ethics, and why are they essential? You will also gain a deeper understanding of what makes global ethics unique from professional or personal ethics. BONUS: We’ll take a deep dive into your final project rubric for this course – and you’ll gain insight into where we are headed by the end of the term!

Have you ever wondered how global economics and justice intersect? During this week’s workshop, you will discover how they intersect and the key vocabulary related to ethical trade. We’ll end the workshop by using the ethical frameworks you’ve learned in class to debate the value and challenges connected to a new shopping development in a city.

We’ll look at how ethical frameworks impact decision-making. This workshop also examines how Eastern, Western, and Indigenous Trial ideology might show up in global frameworks—using the Paris Agreement as the example global framework for this exercise.

You have spent the last eight weeks learning about ethics. During this interactive workshop, you will celebrate your personal journey and reflect on key concepts from the PHL 218 course. You will also do an engagement activity where you have the chance to tie your Philosophy knowledge together in an application exercise.
