What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an AI-powered language model developed by OpenAI that generates human-like text based on user prompts. It can assist with research, writing, coding, brainstorming, summarizing information, and more.

Students can use ChatGPT for:
  • Brainstorming collaboration
  • Organizing ideas and creating outlines
  • Organizing tasks
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Clarifying complex topics (always verify information with credible sources)
  • Practicing coding and troubleshooting
Guidelines:
  • Be clear and specific in prompts for the best results
  • Fact-check AI-generated content, as ChatGPT may produce errors called "hallucinations"
  • Do not use AI-generated text as a direct replacement for original work
  • Follow academic integrity guidelines set by your institution
